Some theories from last night

It may be the late time of the day and the strong relaxation that Holland has gifted me with, but I have come to a quite suitable simile, while reading the book Style Feed. In the two years of the IB, I've been taught that literature is timeless. So true! Though, now concerning Uniquepa fashion/lifestyle and the so-far aspirations, I do find it timeless, respectively. Following similarities can be made and conclusions drawn from those:

  1. We read a piece of writing. Reading it at the age of 15 is different to reading it at the age of 30. Taste and understanding is determined by our experiences, knowledge and the atmosphere we live in.
Similarly, I would have hated to even touch a long dress a couple of years ago. Now I am in love with it. Hence, we change and so does our response.
  2. Humanity is famous for judging and interpreting. No offence to that. We all do it unconsciously We like or dislike. We love or hate. We say yes or no. Consequently, we go deeper and try to understand the artist of the piece of literature. In just the same way, we must see the outfit a person is wearing.
no matter, how old the person is; let him/her be 70 years old. As long as some kind of effort has been out into it, does the observer not appreciate it?
  3. We are the writers ourselves. We are the ones who determine our value. (Thinking back to Woman at Point Zero by Nawal El Saadawi.)
We all have the ability to give some kind of effort, more or less.
So, now, I am about to feel as I have written too much, though, why not?! People have been asking me: "Why do you blog?" I, now, do have an answer due to Style feed: Because it is the only way, I can express myselfmy perception and allow others to have an insight view on some tiny key moments of the ay I see the world.

The green trousers...- Bergen

A day in Bergen may not sound like an extraordinary event, but I had a wonderful day, with so much sun, that I was not even able to think at the end of the day. On the 10km long ride, we saw some incredible houses... well actually villas that looked as big as my old school. I think once in a lifetime one has had to have been here! It is impossible to capture those impressions with a camera. Though, which was possible to capture, were the little cute, but so decadent shops.
My first destination was Camelot, which I think, opened not too long ago, as it used to host my favourite childrens shop. The interior design is as fantastic as the collection of brands offered here. A range from Filipa K, over Acne and some fine Italian brands. Currently, they have a sale, though, the clothes were not quite in my holiday budget, unfortunately. The greenish trousers with the white short cut blazer was my absolute favourite! Unfortunately, I forgot to write down the names of the brands, (maybe, if the shopowner sees the post, she would be so kind to say them below.)

Lunch in Nero was most delicious and perfect to see some of the few people wondering around with an acceptable outfit. I think here are more people over 50 than people in the range between 15 and 30... (key term: overaging/ grey market?) anyway, I had some funny times with a cute waiter and the sun shining upon me.

The carpaccio is very recommendable! (8,50 euros is absolutely fine for one I find)

In shoe box I found the perfect Jeffrey Cambells. Though, I am not quite sure whether I like the fact that my legs look rather long (longer than usually) more than the actual shoe...

The shop also offered some extraordinary collections from brands such as UGGs, Converse, Michael Kors, ....

Opposite to the shoebox is a lovely interior shop. I think, very traditional as I have seen more of the kind around here. I loved the colours and had to post them here!

Returning to Egmond, we enjoyed the beach, dived into the waves (very brave, as we were the ONLY ones!)

Finally, I ended the day in the 'Waven van Egmond' where we met the 'Dorfgemeinschaft' and had some funny reflections upon the day.

Enjoying the sunset at the beach

Sitting at Zilte Zoen and relaxing while the sun is going down :)

Boyfriend style

Also, Fashion n Chips is giving you some more about the boyfriend style. Shes deffinately a candidate to have an eye upon as a fresh blogger!

Saint Lauren Pre-Fall

Talking about the suit from my last post... well funnily, the new Saint Laurent collection for Pre-Fall showed some similar styles as I found on Fashion n Chips (by Christine), have a look yourself!

Alkmaar, a destination for everyone to go to! Cheeselovers, mainstream lovers and Uniquepas!

I have come to this place for more than 14 years and I am just overwhelmed, every year again. Never before, people have been so friendly, welcoming and open as this year!
After a half-an hour ride on our tandem, we entered the little shopping paradise. Of course, my forst implied destination was NR9, where I have never been disappointed with the superb collection of clothes and the friendliness of the service. For fairly low prices you can mainly find Scandinavian brands such as Cheep Monday, or the Dutch brand 'Ruf m.fl.- Swedich design'. While having an espresso I was making myself comfortable, instinctively going thourgh the rather casual clothing collections, but then actually found my absolute favourite: a blue, white, fluffy skirt, just made for my style. Anyway, pictures tell moran a thhousand words; I I will just leave you to them and the few comments along with them.

Just another impression of how my hair looked the other day...

The cutest shop ever! Even I have never bought anything here, the flair inside is just unique!

The kindest service and loveliest atmosphere! Unfortunately there is not a picture of me wearing the skirt I bought just yet... this weather does not yet allow me to put my summer clothes on... :(

Lunch in 'De Buren'. My friend and me would have loved to order more of those soups! They were superb! My choice was the Onion soup, my friend had the fish soup which was slightly spicy, but her face looked most satisfied! Only 6 euros for such a delicate taste?! nothing we said afterwards!

As always, Zara had the most variety rich collection of clothes.
I don't think, any trend is possible to find... or maybe one of the many trends is colourful, choosing what you feel like. Anyway, I was amazed and could not stop taking pictures!

Not only the clothes looked rather wearable, people I saw where dressed in a mix of hipster and chic. Thank you, Lenneke de Nijs! You are the first 'foreign' one on Uniquepa!
The shoes can be found anywhere, even it is not quite my style, I bet they are going to come to Germany and the UK very soon!

Trying on some clothes.... nothing was perfect enough to spend money upon, but definitely worth having look!

Boyfriend style...

Sailor style inspired by Coco Chanel

Another pretty cool and colourful shop, sticking to Indian classics is 'Mirazo Ibiza' on the Mient. Service was nice, pretty and jewellery as well as clothes looked more than wearable and most comfy!

Some things you will always find in Dutch cities...

a little bit of art...

scarves, scarves, scarves (very suitable for the weather)...

cards which just look like you want to receive them...

A little coffee break was held at 'Anna&Max'

If I was able to allow me a piece of cake... I wouldnt have been able to choose from the most delicious looking cakes!!!

This is not a blog for men, but his style looked... posh? stylish? perfect? I dont quite know how to express myself anymore, but my favourite of the composition was definitely the sakko which was by Umit Bernan

So happy to be home after such a long day!

Dinner was held at the traditional fish imbiss in Egmond Aan Zee. This salmon gave the rest to my feeling of satisfaction!
