One of the many inspiring Pop up shops I visited last week in Berlin was
Berlin Fashion Network. While having a couple of drinks I was wondering around, meeting eccentric people. The concept however, won my heart!
You can imagine it like this: On the left side, you find the brand '
German Garment' which is a collaboration by Joko Winterscheidt, Matthias Schweighoefer, Thomas Koehler and Oliver Schleith. After looking into the air for about a minute, Joko finally found a three words he could describe the establishment with:
magic cloud surfing. After our little conversation, I went into the shop and totally agreed. It is the direct mirror image of music on fabric.
However, more had to be said by one of the runners of the Berlin fashion network. He emphasised the quality rich fabrics, (the super friendly service), and the very fair prices (at the moment, a lot is on sale! -> 20 euros a T-Shirt!). The community was born in 2004 and you can imagine about 300 shirts to be sold a month. Hence, if you buy one, barely anyone else will have it around you.
As mentioned above, the clothes are a mirror image of musical vibes. Next to travelling, this is the greatest inspiration to the chosen designers. Talking about travelling, it is said, that there is not one country to be the favourite for our favourite hobby, instead he chose the world. As far as I can tell from the owners expressions, he sees the world to be limitless and open. That is what I liked about it!
So next to German celebrities' works, we find independent designers' creations on the right side. As an example, I shall call out
Anne Schmuhl (focussing on trouser designs) and
AD Deertz (only men, though, I would wear the scarves as well).
Have a look online and find your own inspirations. I found it worth it, talking to Joko and Co for more than half an hour, as the story behind the concept is what is in my interest.
